Located in the middle strip of Wumachao region, Jiangbei Industrial Zone is a strategic node in Anhui province connection to Yangze Delta. The site area is about 230 square km in Chaohu city.

Halcrow analyzed the relationship between Jiangbei Industry Zone and the urban agglomeration in Wanjiang region based on the regional service function of the zone. The study included the existing condition analysis of the site and regional economic development strategy, formulated spatial development strategy. The plan included design industry positioning and spatial layout, urban function positioning and urban characteristics, ecological environment protection and utilization, urban development strategies and transport.
