Tuanbo New Town is one of the 11 key new towns identified in Master Plan for Tianjin city (2005-2020) which is closed to the downtown area of Tianjin. The new town development is divided into west area, east area and south area. The west area covers 51.89 km2 with a proposed population of 300,000. The industrial orientation focused on creative industries and three major industries i.e. sport, culture and tourism will be developed. The plan aims the water being the source of vitality, green being the grid network and diversified chain being the carrier. A brand new LOHAS lifestyle in this new town is proposed to create an amazing waterfront city integrating education & research, creative & cultural, tourism & leisure, office and residential functions.
